Manage Your Remote Empployees With These Tools

Managing remote employees requires a very specific set of skills. While there’s a great deal you can do on your own, you’ll need to rely on technological assistance to really get the most from your off-site employees. That’s why it’s so important that you take the time to look at the tools for managing remote employees that will actually improve their productivity and make your business more profitable.

Tools for managing remote employees that will maximize productivity

Given the boom in the number of remote employees over the last few years, it makes sense that there would be many new workforce management tools to help maximize their productivity. Some of these tools address issues that are inherent to working remotely, while others are excellent office tools that can help out in any situation. No matter what you’re looking for, these will help.

Trello

A good to-do list can really help your business to thrive. When you have remote workers, though, it’s hard to keep that list in the forefront. Trello can help with that process by helping you to create online task lists. Trello not only allows you to create checklists for work tasks, but it also allows you to share information at a glance. It’s a great scheduling and calendar tool as well as a workflow management tool, so you can get quite a bit out what might seem like a small program. If you’re looking for a way to make sure that your remote staff is on the same page as your home staff, you absolutely must take a look at Trello.

Slack

Slack has quickly become not only one of the best tools for managing remote employees, but also one of the most popular work tools in the world. Slack is a messaging and chat app that allows users to send messages in real time, creating a team environment that provides for incredibly quick communication with almost zero downtime. It’s a great application to have when you need to keep remote team members in the loop, whether those team members are on another floor or across the world. Given its prevalence in offices across the world, it’s also a tool that you can reasonably expect new hires to know how to use without much training.

DropBox

One of the absolute best tools for managing remote employees is DropBox. Used across multiple industries and even as a consumer product, it is by far one of the most intuitive and useful file-sharing tools out there. It takes virtually no time to set up or train an employee in its use, allowing it to become a vital part of your workflow management in just a few minutes. A perfect tool for remote employees who still need to share paperwork with the home office, it’s a great addition for almost any workforce.

LastPass

Security is always an issue when you have remote employees. Fortunately, LastPass can help you to create an extra layer of security by creating and storing strong passwords for virtually any device or password. Like the other tools on this list, LastPass is very easy to use and requires no technical skill. Unlike some of the other tools, though, it’s still useful even when your remote employees aren’t working with the team at home. If you’re interested in making sure that your business’ data is more secure without interfering in your employees’ ability to get their jobs done, you’ll want to ensure that they are all using LastPass for their work information.

UberConference

Conference calls can be useful, but they’re not a substitute for real meetings. While you might spend a great deal of time trying to get all of your remote employees in one place, a better choice would be to invest in a teleconferencing program that allows you to share documents and record information. UberConference is definitely one the best tools for managing remote employees when you need to have a face-to-face, both because it allows you to get multiple employees on the line and because it allows you to share information in the same window. Instead of trying to find a schedule that works for employees in multiple locations and having to deal with the problems inherent with travel, you can go online and accomplish much more in less time.

What you can do:

One of the easiest things you can do to ensure payroll runs smoothly is to go paperless. We are concerned that some delivery options could be interrupted or unreliable as delivery companies may change the way they operate in reaction to impacts of the Coronavirus. Additionally, if any employees need to be quarantined, getting them physical checks may not be convenient or possible.

Going paperless enables you to receive all your reports online and put all employees on direct deposit so they can receive a digital pay stub. For employees without bank accounts, we can easily provide them free debit cards to receive their pay.

In addition, if putting all your employees on direct deposit is not feasible, we also have an option where you are able to print the checks in your office for any employee that does not have direct deposit. As mentioned before, we also offer pay cards that act as a debit card. For more information on going paperless, just ask your Payroll Specialist.

We are committed to ensuring Pay-Tech remains a business partner on which you can rely. Thank you for being a valued client.
